Katie, thank you so much for your comment. I wish I had a great answer for you, but it sounds like you are doing all of the right things. I can certainly understand and sympathize with your frustration; however, it is up to each individual financial institution to make the decision to participate in programs such as the Hardest Hit Homeowners Fund. The Michigan Bankers Association continues to work with both national and regional lenders to gain their involvement in this particular program to help homeowners such as yourself. For your particular situation, I encourage you to continue proactively and aggressively contacting your legislators and your lender to help you find a solution for your situation.

I wish for the best outcome for you and your family.

Dear Mr. Chapman,

Are you aware that 4 major Michigan mortgage lenders (Citi, Bank of America, Chase & Wells Fargo) are NOT on board with this program?
What can I do to help make my mortgage lender (CitiMortgage) GET on board? I am in danger of losing my home and do not want my family to be homeless.
I have tried contacting Jennifer Granholm, Mary Valentine, and Debbie Stabanows office, all to no avail.
What can the "little people" like me do?
Thank you,
Katie Carls
